My Everything (2024) by French Female Director Anne-Sophie Bailly

Featuring Laure Calamy in all her glory, this drama depicts the relationship between a mother, Mona, and her disabled son Joël as he is about to become a father. This event marks a shift in their co-dependency relationship, raising questions such as a mother’s involvement and rights over her son’s life. This touching story is explored through a transgenerational prism, focusing mainly on Mona, her fears and her urge to retrieve her youth again.

Patrick Williams’ house & Shop renovation

In their newly renovated Bath located house, the couple Patrick and Neri have created a space full of wonder and nostalgia for their family. Using playful colours, shared spaces, natural light and recycled materials, the couple was able to infuse new life to the space while respecting their moto: “the building is the client and should dictate what’s done to it”. Kimberley’s Reed I’m Your Venus (2024)

This moving documentary is the sequel of the iconic Paris Is Burning (Jennie Livingston, 1990) filmed in New York during the mid 80s, exploring the ball culture and the transgender community’s participation in it. A few years later, Venus Xtravaganza, the outstanding character of the 1990 documentary is murdered. Director Kimberley Reed gets in touch with Venus’ brothers years later and follows them on their journey to rediscover their sister’s life as well as her impact and heritage on her community that quickly became her chosen family.

Stephanie Lacombe’s La Table de l’Ordinaire

This series which won the Prix Niépce in 2009 seeks to give us a look inside families, their habits and ways of co-existing. This powerful work allows us to look at people’s unfiltered interiors which is something that becomes rarer as time passes and social media dictates our taste. The Neistat Brothers

A refreshing, funny and clever little serie. This show is brought to us by the two Neistat brothers, immersing the audience in their lives due to an amateur and almost childish means of filmmaking, both through the form and the style used to display content. From the two adult brothers’ complicity arises this unique kind of essay film format, embarking us along in their adventures with their closest ones. If you are facing a blank slate, this is a piece of work you might want to look inspiration for.

Malù Dalla Piccola’s Apartment full of heritage

Featured the 2020 Vogue article and video of the series Une fille, un style, Malù Dalla Piccola’s Apartment is a great example of how, even when living alone, you can feel surrounded by family.
